See the list below for the assignment briefs which I have produced for the most popular optional units. If you choose wisely, the requirements of some optional units are naturally embedded within the mandatory units' content (therefore not a lot of additional teaching should be required). For example: Develop and prepare resources for learning and development; Develop learning and development programmes; Developing, using and organising resources in a specialist area; Identify individual learning and development needs; Inclusive Practice; and Teaching in a specialist area.
There are many optional units available as part of the Certificate (CET) and Diploma in Education and Training (DET), including some of the assessment and internal quality assurance units (listed above). You will need to decide which are appropriate for your learners at the relevant level and credit value.
Learners must achieve at least 15 credits for CET, or 45 credits for DET, from the optional units at the relevant level.
Some of the level 3 or 4 optional units are acceptable for the level 4 CET or level 5 DET.
Please note: the following options are questions only, they do not include exemplar answers.
However, examples are given within the questions to help assessors and learners to understand what is being asked. All questions are cross-referenced to each unit's assessment criteria and are written in an easy to understand way. All assignments are electronic and are provided in Word for you to amend as you wish. You may need to agree them beforehand with your awarding organisation.
Short numbers of questions in an assignment (such as 2 or 3) contain sub-questions which have been grouped according to themes. This is to enable an holistic and logical approach to assessment.
Click on the 'Download' button to access the optional units' information and content. However, you should have received this, or something similar to this from your awarding organisation (AO). The information from your AO might supersede this.

You should refer to the learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the relevant qualifications to ensure all aspects have been covered prior to assessment.
The questions are a guide, and have been devised according to the relevance of each unit’s assessment criteria (and cross-referenced to them), rather than following them in order.
If you wish, you can change and adapt the questions as all assignments are supplied as electronic Word documents.
You are responsible for ensuring the units and credit values meet the rules of combination (where applicable).
Exemplar answers are available for some of the theory units as a guide to aid marking and standardisation. They must not to be given to learners under any circumstances and are only sold on this basis.
Academic writing and referencing is a requirement at level 4 and above.
You may need to agree the use of the assignments with your awarding organisation (AO) before use. They might stipulate a word count for each response, none of which are provided for these assignments as AOs differ regarding their guidance. You could decide on your own word counts if none are provided.
If learners are able to meet the requirements of any of the assessment criteria from other units, they should be able to cross-reference these rather than duplicate their responses. Holistic assessment is good practice.
Please complete the form to enquire about making a purchase. Once your qualification approval has been verified, you will be sent a link to make your purchase.
Feel free to leave your own feedback.
"Your assignments are set out clearly and written in such a way that learners can understand how to approach them." AJ
"I just wanted to let you know how many hours you have saved me. I was struggling to know how to approach the assessments, but your materials have made things so much easier." P Wardle
"Your assignments have helped my assessors to understand what is required - thank you." MP
"I am really pleased with the DET unit assignments I purchased from Ann. They have saved me SO much time. They have been clearly thought out to ensure that all the assessment criteria are covered in different ways. They’re not repetitive and give my learners a breath of activities to complete. Many of the tasks require my learners to use naturally occurring pieces of evidence so it lessens the workload. I know they will be grateful for this. I love that Ann has gone to the trouble of providing theorists to investigate and has even provided some guidance on what to look for when assessing too." Samantha Turner, Crosby Management Training Ltd
"Love, love, love your assignments! They have made my life as an assessor so much easier. I must admit, I was unsure how to approach the assessment aspect, but I feel much more confident now!" M Stocks
"Knowing how to structure the assessment process has helped my staff to standardise their practice. This in turn has improved the quality of work from learners. Thank you!" Anon
